Unit Air Conditioner for Your Home, Most Beneficial
No more running out of hot air before you get dressed, run out of hot air during the cold months or go through the pains of trying to cool a home on the hot days of summer. There are currently two systems on the market that I personally use and recommend to most everyone I know.
They are NuTone and the Coolco. Both systems feature a central panel that operates the whole unit in tandem with the control of an app on your phone. The control is extremely intuitive and allows you to set the desired temperature as well as remotely shut the system off at the desired time. It also has the added benefit of letting you set a schedule for the fans, blowers and can control the unit when you are away from home.
Keep in mind the first thing that has to be done is to get your windows and doors sealed up, as well as anything that might have gaps. It will also pay to get the ductwork in good condition. Don’t be tempted to wrap ductwork until the entire system is installed. This can be a quite expensive mistake that will make your system inefficient.
Ranging from $30,000 to $70,000, they are definitely not cheap, but, considering how many lives they will keep you from spending, it really is the best option.
Relatively speaking, it is also better than trying to run the air conditioner by itself.

Frequently Asked Questions on Buying an Air Conditioning System
What is the best type of air conditioning system for an apartment/condo?
The best system for an apartment is a separate unit. You can even have it on an attached unit. For a condominium, separate units and often air conditioners are installed on individual balconies.
How far can a unit be from a window, and what if the unit needs to be cooled before it can come into view?
This can depend on your unit size, but any unit where you could see the unit from a window is too close to it. Most windows are at least 3 feet wide and 12 feet long, so this isn’t too much of an issue.
With a higher number of units in a building, more rooms will need cooling, which is where air conditioning comes in.
What is the best company to get air conditioning system installation done?
If you are in the market for an air conditioning system, start by calling local companies. Ask to speak with them about their air conditioning needs and what kind of system they have installed before. It’s important to be familiar with a few contractors so you can go with the best one for your needs.
You can always make a comparison of them to others by comparing prices. I like to see the price and how much it costs for materials and labor. There are some great companies out there. Check out this list of the Best Air Conditioning Companies for even more recommendations.
If the technicians are very fast, then they can install the system in just a day or two. If they are very slow, you could be waiting up to 6 months to get the unit installed. If the company isn’t even willing to give a window of when they would be able to install the air conditioner, walk away from it.
So many people would do this, I have had to tell them that I can’t work with that type of company.
What about the energy bill?
While the energy bill will increase slightly (this is inevitable) by getting an air conditioning system installed, the longer you leave it running the more you will save on your utility bill.
I have noticed the energy bill in my home go from $350 a month to $300.
